For the People. By The People.

Mission Meals Coalition (MMC) is an intergenerational mutual aid collective of Bay Area organizers, small businesses, and community groups working together to deliver hundreds of free groceries and meals every month to food insecure community members. Funded via small dollar donations Mission Meals Coalition has raised $1M and counting to ensure community members have access to food no matter their zip code, housing, or immigration status.

Dignified Food Access

Our collective food programs are designed to support food access in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our coalition currently services 600 households on a monthly basis. Our programs are organized independently to service community members who experience a myriad of structural barriers. We intentionally organize with an approach that humanizes our recipients, with consideration for culturally relevant food and access needs.

GrocerIES

MMC believes accessing food should be a dignified experience, regardless of household income. In partnership with HOMEY, we provide culturally relevant groceries at La Ofrenda, baby formula and postnatal food tools alongside local case managers. Consistent access to healthy food is key to breaking cycles of poverty and inequity. Learn more about our community-centered work in the Lower Mission.

Farmworker Support

Food and agriculture equity efforts must include farmworkers. We believe MMC cannot engage in food and agriculture advocacy, if our organizing doesn’t include farmworkers. We work with like minded and regional organizations and Napa small business owners to identify the support farmworkers and their families. Learn more about our Farmworker Fund.

Small Business Support

MMC partners with local restaurants to distribute individually prepared hot meals to local families living in shelters, day laborers and homebound seniors.
